Road America TV Ratings: ESPN's live telecast of the NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wis., on Saturday, June 23, earned a 1.6 household coverage rating (1.4 U.S. rating), averaging 1,924,648 viewers, according to the Nielsen Company. The rating grew 33 percent from last year's race, which earned a 1.2 rating, and continued the ratings growth that the event has seen since the 1.1 for the inaugural race in 2010.(ESPN)(6-26-2012)

Without Papis and JV, this race wouldn't have been as entertaining. I'm sure his new bad boy image would help increasing the ratings again next year

Let's just hope his new "Bad Boy" image doesn't get him kicked out of the car for the race in Montreal! I read that Penske Racing confirmed him for Montreal even after the events of Road America. I also read a statement today from Discount Tire that shows their displeasure with JV. What does everyone else think about him racing Montreal??

I think they need JV in Montreal to sell tickets.

Even Discount Tire's statement gives them more free publicity. Meanwhile it makes them look good that they made the statement.

The chance of JV having an eventless race in Montreal is pretty slim. Everyone will be gunning for him.

Maybe in realizing that winning in Montreal will be almost impossible, he'll relax more and actually win.

It must be very difficult when you're expected to win.

In regard with your comment, I exactly feel the same.

How come individuals can avoid to recognize that JV's move on Danica was not done deliberatly... while at the same time, these same individuals avoid the fact that McDowell, Sadler and Papis purposely hit JV...

MVHO. This is a big lack of integrity. And from my personnal point of view, this integrity is a major factor in "ranking" peoples' value to my eyes...

Below is the statement from Discount Tire:
"Together Penske and Discount Tire have achieved great success in the Nationwide Series, including a championship, and have maintained the highest levels of integrity and sportsmanship throughout that relationship. Although we believe the contact between Villeneuve and Patrick to be unfortunate, it is a part of professional racing. However, Villeneuve's post-race comments did not reflect our ideals regarding sportsmanship. Having said that, we continue to be very proud of our relationship with the Penske organization."

FYI
Tim Cindric was on sirius today and asked about JV he said Dodge knew the seat for 2 races for 2 years was available and Penske took JV cause Dodge asked them to.
